Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi, the proprietor of True Worship Centre in Kamuli district in eastern Uganda is in trouble for allegedly hosting Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine in March last year.

Muwanguzi was arrested by plain-clothed police officers after featuring on a television talk show in Jinja town on Saturday. He was taken to Jinja central police station where he was held for an hour before he was transferred to Kamuli central police station.

Muwanguzi allegedly committed the offence when he hosted Bobi Wine and other religious leaders at his home in Bukikimbo village in Butansi sub-county in March last year without notifying police.

Muwanguzi told journalists that his arrest was uncalled for since Bobi Wine just paid him a friendly courtesy visit, which didn’t warrant police approval.

The Busoga North Region police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, says the suspect has been holding consultative meetings without notifying police contrary to the Public Order Management Act. He says detectives are still investigating the matter and will provide a detailed statement on the matter on Monday.
