Zombo police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 21-year-old Bright Pimundu, a resident of Mawa village in Paidha town council.
Pimundu’s lifeless body was found dangling on a mango tree around 8am on Wednesday morning. Geoffrey Aliana, the LC I chairman Mawa village, says residents stumbled on the deceased’s body dangling by a rope on a Mango tree.
“The village woke up in shock with this man’s death. He was found on this tree and we are still following it up with police. I don’t know what exactly killed him but the youth should use their lives positively”, he told URN.
He says the deceased has been a known addict of the banned marijuana and thinner, which could have led to this demise. The deceased’s mother, Night Acirocan, says her son asked for Shs 40,000 for personal use on Tuesday night but she declined to give him the money after realizing that he would just squander it.
“This boy last evening rudely asked me for Shs 40,000 but I refused. In fact, we had a bitter exchange of words. I think he was frustrated by our quarrel and it’s not the first time he has threatened to kill himself”, Acirocan said.
Abubakar Musiho, the Zombo district police commander, says they have commenced investigations into the matter. Musiho says they handed over the deceased’s body to Nyapea hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations continue.
